<a href=" http://www.skalithemovie.com"><img src="http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k142/perantauanpictures/dc09209e.jpg"></a></embed> So cmon guys, help them la and go watch. It may not win oscars but u can sure as hell said you've supported a low budget independant local film made by ppl who are only as old as us! NOW GO! August 20 S'kali The MovieWe finally have a release date for S'kali the movie: Sept 14th.
For all those in Malaysia pls help to support this film by watching it when it comes out. This young team of Malaysians (whom i can proudly say are my frens.. well... some of them anyway) have braved all obstacles, setbacks and prejudices to bring this movie to the silver screens!! BUT.. the movie will ONLY:
- be screened at cineliesure opposite The Curve.
- be showed for 2 weeks (4 weeks if the response is gud)
So pls support these ppl and go watch their show! We must support our local industry remember??
Reasons why this movie is worth watching:
(i) For all DJ-ians, at least 4 former DJ-ians were involved in making the movie. (ie from directing, writing, producing , filming...)
(ii) The writer/producer is only 22 yrs old!!!
(iii) This is their first movie despite objections from skeptics and lack of financial support (They like to call themselves starving artsy ppl ^_^)
(iv) You HAVE to catch it in the cinemas cos there's no way u can find a pirated cd of this movie ^_^
(v) You'll get to see many many mamak stalls!!
(vi) The story is something that everyone can relate to.
(vii) The cameraman is only 21!
(viii) We must support our local industry!!!!!!!!!!
(viiii) I KNOW THESE PPL AND I KNOW THOSE THAT KNOW THEM... PPL WHO DONT GO........ *cracks knuckles*
(x) J-Lo makes a cameo appearence (and i mean the MALAYSIAN J-Lo not jennifer lopez)
(xi) One of the actors/production crew is/used to be part of the Hitz.fm crew (go read abt that on the website below)
(xii) Because we need a Malaysian to win an Oscar!
Remember to go ya!! And for those who want to know more abt the movie, here's a link for the production crews blog and their official website:
June 24 Baking expeditionPicked up baking recently from my aunt (who's all to happy to finally have someone to pass on her skills too) and i have photos to PROVE it happened! MUAHAHA.. after all, if bingy can bake.. SO CAN I!!! So far i've only done the simple stuff like pound cake, marble cake, scones and rock buns (our now official LEE FAMILY SPECIALTY!!)
It's so nice to sit down after all the sweating and grunting and cleaning up to savour the fluffiness of your latest hasil.. aaaahhhh... yum yum ^_^
It's also nice to have another domestic skill as well..lol..
Well... after 2 days of baking (not continous) with one of the days making all the stuff shown in d pics (they're just samples.. they DO NOT depict the actual ammount produced) I am now confident I can whip up all the stuff shown in d pics ^_^. With all the basic skills at hand, hopefully I will be adventurous enough soon to try a new type of cake. Untill then!!! June 17 RO fever... MILD fever... back-at-home feverDuring my 2nd semester exams, my frens and I (specifically my hsemates) caught the RO (ragnarok.. if u dun understand.. best not to ask) fever again..lol.. after much research online, we found a private free server to play on. And the rest is history. During the last week of my stay in Leeds, we all met up during a BBQ and took a pic complete with our RO poses.. take a look! The pics were kindly and skilfully modified by dear maxxy!
During my 2nd week back at home, I fell ill with (mild) fever -_-! haih.. spoilt all my plans.. and now thnx to it I've yet to watch ANY movies since I got back. Plus MI3 has been taken out of the cinemas PLUS i start work next week!!! AAAARRRGGGGHHH!! BUT... good part is now me and en ruey are once again 5 mins/10mins apart from each other.. aaaahhh~~ blisss~~ now my relationship can go back to being healthy and normal again just like other couples... hopefully minus all the fights other couples have.. ehehehe..
Football fever datang lagi.. tapi I tak interested untuk tengok atau keep count.. haih... just not for me.. rather go read a book... speaking of reading.. I recently FINALLY read the Memoirs of a Geisha and to my err.. surprise (horror maybe?) I found out that the damn story is a fiction. Dammit.. all this while I thought it was a true story!! damn author.. haih.. but yes.. the book is better but the movie looks pretier and is more exciting at times. Wonder how da vinci will be like?? (pls dun answer this)
Went shopping for the last 2 days to look for a new dress for next year's ball (why so fast find?? cos i dun wanna leave it till later ma.. usually takes me a month or so to find something i like) and on the 2nd day i as so fed up with running all over the place for a damn dress (actually i found a pink one till a lady that was waiting for the dressing room loudly proclaimed that the dress was too old for me and also stated i looked pasty in it cos i was too fair..-_-!.. potong stim) that i decided to settle on a NON dress... lol.. I dont think many ppl would go with the combo i got (hopefully) plus the fact it was obscenely expensive...but i just LOVED the top.. oh well.. it will be a long time i spend any more money on shopping.. at least till my dad calms down after he sees the bill... uh oh.. pray for me .. (dammit.. en ruey you should have stopped me!! lol)
May 26 Freedom is here~~~~YESSSSS!! ITS OVER!!! THE HORROR OF ALL HORRORS IS OVER!!! I shall not get out of bed tmr till its past 10.30am.. (thats still early compared to some of my horror days..lol)
Exams are over and now I have a helluva BBQ to plan/ get it working for this sunday... Actually everything is set except for the weather.. we're all praying and hoping the sun'll be up and blessing us with wonderfull warmth to give our BBQ the boost we need! I'm so looking forward to this man. I mean like last year it was great.. this year.. pls be fantastic..
Once the BBQ fires are put out.. its time for my next 'event'. All nighter dota session at my place! Man it'll be hillarious with all of us sitting there screaming at the game at the same time. And to top it off I'll be attempting a bah kuh teh for dinner!! *salivate* Hopefully I can get the pork ribs that I need .. not to mention the yim sai and tau pok.. oh.. and in true malaysian style... fabulously hot CHILLI!!
Almost time to go home.. in fact home will be exactly one week from now and thats one week worth of packing, moving and finishing up all the food in the cupboards.. not pretty. Speaking of going back, i already have a list of movies i wanna (hopefully be able to) catch when i go back.. pls pls pls still be there.. in fact one of which I'm interested in is a local production called "S'kali". Why am I so interested?? *ahem* *kembang* I happen to personally know the director of the movie and some of the prominent producers of the show.. They all happen to be my friends and also ex-schoolmates! Man I'm really excited about this film. I mean how many of us actually know of ppl whose dreams are to make a movie and they actually went ahead and did it?? I do! So guys, go watch the movie so YOU can tell ppl that: "oh I know someone who knows someone that made that movie.. like omygosh.." no.. dun do that and sound like a bimbo.. pls dont..anyway.. here's the link to the movie's webbie: http://www.skalithemovie.com/
So support them ppl! Cos I know I will!
Speaking of bimbos...
how many of you know Paris Hilton? (*scans the crowd*)
how many of you think she's a helluva bimbo? (*scans crowd again*)
How many of you ADMIRE her? (*i hear crickets this time*)
Let me introduce to you a MALAYSIAN bimbo who's a GREAT FAN OF PARIS HILTON!!
and please... refrain from talking like her once you're done 'reading'
So.. these past 2 weeks I've been waiting for something to happen.. but that SOMETHING did not happen... so obviously SOMETHINGS wrong.. so what's wrong?? what went wrong?? I'm seriously in the pits over this.. I feel abit responsible ... dammit dammit dammit.... DAMMIT!!! ... and no.. dont ask me about it.. just hope that eventually i'll have a blog describing my overflowing joy of the 'something' happening..
untill the bbq~~ May 03 For Mario fans~~For anyone and everyone who has played Mario Land even once...
Thanks bingy for the link!!
April 28 its that time again..Wahlau.. one year pass liao.. wahlau.. its time for finals again.. WAHLAU HAVE TO STUDY LEH!!!
Shit man.. I HATE studying.. actually I only hate studying for my heat & mass and business module.. the heat n mass one is so abstract with too many equations and the business one is just plain crap. Business lectures are a contest to see who can stay awake the longest.. last I recalled no one won cos the moment the fella turns on his first slide we're brain dead.. sei lo... need to read it (the damn text book) and I mean the WHOLE IT!
Was blog surfing just now.. felt so out of touch (as usual) and outdated.. everyone moving ahead and I tak tahu lansung.. miss mamak... actually i just miss not BEING in the uk... I had a sudden realisation a month ago.. I realised that we students who fly thousands of miles to study, we literally spend 9months a year in a foreign land.. and this has to continue for 2 more yrs for me.. so which is home now? where ur dog n parents are or the place you come back to everyday in btwn classes to catch 20 winks and literally live your daily life in? The last time I went back I felt my hse was odd.. the toilet was so big.. the fans seemed to interesting (no fans mah here) .. suddenly I had so much space to move around.. suddenly just cannot anyhow wake up at 2pm (ehehe).. weird..
Anyway.. less depresing stuff.. MORE LINKS!!:
My blog somehow veeeerrrryyy quiet.. wonder if anyone notices that i DO update.. April 25 click, Click, CLICK!! CLICK DAMMIT!!Lol... just 2 links to help spread the joy n funniness (i know there's no such word...) :

5 more weeks to 3 months of freedom
6 more weeks to nasi lemak n furry dog
7 more weeks till I see en ruey again
BUT....
10 more days to design project deadline...

WHY LA!!?!?!?!?!?! _|-|O (who can tell wat this is?? ada reward!.. i think)
April 04 ADA SEMANGAT!!!Suddenly I ada semangat to blog. Discovered my lil bro (omg) now has a blog of his own and I'm amazed at all the big big BIG words he's using to describe his misery XD.. wahlau.. feels like the world back at home is zooming at full speed ahead while I'm being stuck in a time warp here in the UK. so... how??.. i shop!..lol..
err... continuing from my last blog.. the MASSOC ball (which was AAAAGES ago) was a hit.. well I'd like to think it was a hit.. I honestly thought my only worry for the night was to coordinate the emcees and the music and I'll sit back and laugh at CG running around being the prog. manager for the whole nite. But in the end I was running around wif him and it was no laughing matter cos running in heels results in bleeding painfull feet b4 the dance floor evens opens..sht man.. it was so painfull it felt like ... pain... yes.. very descriptive arent I. Just for a juicy bit of things that happened, during the night we played some games to get the crowd all excited and worked up and one of the games was a drinking fear factor game. So .. me had either stepped on many toes or I must have come across to many ppl as a hell of a sporting person to drag into the game wif 5 other guys ... whichever the reason u pick.. anyway.. honestly.. the drink sucked.. it was sour and mediciney like wif CHUNKS of tuna mind you.. and so it began... I just opened up my throat and poured everything in. no tasting no chewing just down down down.. guy on my left threw up on the dance floor guy on my right chug chug chug.. frens in the background screaming my name honestly thinking I would win wif the way I was drinking.. but in the end wif just 2 gulps left, a guy on the far left won (he was the one I draged onto the dance floor.. just some random stranger that was unfortunate enuf to be sitting near me when I was scouting for participants) dammit man.. the experience would have been alot more sweeter if I had won.. oh well.. now ppl know I'm a force to be reckoned wif (^_^) and like in high school, more ppl know my face than I know theirs..lol..but the aftermath wasnt preety cos I ran to the toilet to empty my stomach out.. so literally that whole nite I had zero food in me and I was still as perky as usual... weird.. and ppl wonder why I dun put on weight. Dancing was a blast .. I now know I LOVE dancing so clubbing is my thing as long as I dun have to buy drinks.. I just go to dance and feel free.. painfull feet is just a cost I have to pay.. but damn it feels good..
So it was a good nite till later.. during the cleanup and dismantling of the backdrop, my hsemate (and a dear fren now) sliced his hand pretty deeply wif a blade.. sht man.. his blood was DRIPPING all the way to the toilet.. so an hour later after much gangrane threats from my fren I accompanied him to the nearby accident & emergency (A&E) to get his hand fixed at 2am in the morning.. after a long wait and a lil bit of super glue (no I'm not kidding) his wound was closed up and bandaged and I finally got my much desired sleep and bath. next day I was limping around due to the aftermath pain..
Going to the A&E is like a curse cos exactly a week later I came down wif food poisoning/viral infection of teh stomach and was throwing up a minimum of 2 times every hour regardless of whether there was anything in my stomach.. so at 4am, I woke up the same hsemate to walk me to the A&E again.. poor fella..we only got out of that place at 8am wif me still throwing up ocasionally (sidewalk pun kena.. aiyoh..) and a BIG hole in my hand from where they stuck a needle into the crook of my arm.. haih.. hours later I was feeling a bit green but no more throwups.. lol.. at a point during my sickness I would be so weak from throw ups that when I felt sick I would just drag my chair to the sink in my room and just sit there wif my head hanging over the sink.. pain man..
But anyhow, I'm feeling much better now and have no more after effects (eg: I had diarhea for a few days after my vomiting stopped. My body was purging out the bad antigens u see,..)
Back to happier and more recent things. Recently went to london over the weekend to celebrate double bdays. Yvonnes and my god cousin elaine. vonnie turned 21 on sat and we had a gathering in london (musicals and expensive jap dinner garnished wif fabulous bday cakes and malaysian lunch made by our very first 'si lai' of our high school group: sam.. man she can definately make any girl feel inadequate. But it felt so nostalgic sitting there wif everyone trading barbs wif each other.. some things never change and I'm glad they dont) it was a wicked weekend wif late nights wif my cousin and her great hsemate christine.. thnx guys.. man I was so spoiled by my cousin over the whole weekend.. I was her financial drainhole..she was the PERFECT hostess and cousin.. so to repay her I bought her this board game (cranium) which she had been dying to get but hasn't gotten it yet cos she was waiting for it to get cheap. HOPE YOU ENJOY IT COS I SURE AS HELL WANNA PLAY IT!!
Spending this weekend wif von and fellow high school mates and my cuz and her hsemate made me realise that I'm growing up and so is everyone around me.. Life is going by way too fast and I want it to slow down.. today I told en ruey that I wish that I would never turn 21 cos that is a milestone in my life signalling the start of my adulthood. I dont wanna be an adult yet.. I wanna stay a kid for a little while longer.. 21.. its a BIG number.. and I'm not ready for it yet..
gtg.. dota kaki's waiting for me.. my own tonite!!! March 16 and soon I shall be free~~Saturday is almost here!! yess!! Our MASSOC ball is this saturday..once this saturday is over all our hellish weeks of ball stress coupled with assignments stress will be over!! What a nice way to end of a hell of a term isn't it? A ball!! I'm really excited and nervous about it at the same time. Nervous cos I'm hoping with all my toes and fingers crossed that everything will go well.. but like out president said: 'as long as we stay united and work thru this everything will be fine!'. So YES!! I will do my best on my part for the ball no matter how small it is.. untill then.. I can continue sweating bullets and grow more wrinkles. Everything for the ball seems to be coming together now but we still (in true malaysian style) have loads of last minute work to do in sat. morning.. loads of decoration.. loads of craft work... lots of stuff!! I NEED MORE PERKY MUSIC TO KEEP ME GOING!! But I definately have my hats off to William who has ochestrated this entire ball with the help of all of us (committe members) in planning this event under a month.. amazing work.. this saturday will just show if we are successfull.. PRAY WITH ME PPL!!
With me being busy with projects, balls and all that sort I've not been hime much..but en ruey (surprisingly) is even less at home than me (He's busy with his own malaysian society planning their malaysian night.. its this sunday.. gd luck BAMSA!).. so nights now are just spent quietly with me trying to catch up with my work (failing and successfull in some areas) But I feel so happy when I sit back and look cos both of us being THIS BUSY yet still hanging on strong just proves that both of us can be active in our personal lives (like activities) and keep up with school work but reach an understanding equilibrium (does this makes sense?) with each other... I'm happiest with the fact that both of us are maximising our uni life... ok.. I'm starting to be a tad philosophical... I definately need more sleep...
ok ok.. gtg now... shud be studying for a vibrations test tomorrow..ehehe...oops..what else do I have to do? well.... err.. lets see.. after a 10am-4pm full day in school i have to rush off to check on my darling MC's of the ball and den rush back for dinner.. den rush to make a prop for the ball ... DEN I DOTA AFTER DEPRIVING MYSELF FROM IT FOR A WHOLE WEEK!!! WOOHOO!! ALMOST THERE!! I CAN JUST TASTE MY GODLIKE!! March 08 lost~~I just found out a few hours ago (damn I'm outdated) that one of my frens lost his mother to cancer... this same fren (if I'm not wrong) was probably overseas when he got the news. Although to most ppl me and him weren't the best of frens (which is quite true in most cases) but he sure as hell was a great sport and entertainment when it came to bugging ppl. I was dumbstruck when I found out about the news but I shouldn't be.. I've been through this 2 times already.. the first time I was too young to understand... and the 2nd time I was too far away to do anything. Not many ppl know this but in my first year of being in the UK, my grandfather passed away due to complications from his heart disease. The worst part was that it came as an utter and complete shock for me as I NEVER knew he was in any danger..another bad part was that I was just less than a month away from going home... so I never got to say goodbye to my grandad...
My friend experienced the same thing earlier this academic year... although she got the news when she was here and not at home, she was lucky enough to be able to go back home and say her last goodbyes.. I pray that my fren is able to do the same .. I also pray that he has ppl that are close to him at this time to help him get by. If it wasnt for en ruey I would've been out of my mind by then.
Seeing all this hardship and trials makes me feel like such a whiner.. things like this makes the things I'm going thru now look like... nothing...I've gotta stop whining and moaning... gotta find a healthy outlet for all my buildup stress and frustration with all the things happening around me. And this news just depresses me even more. MUST find an outlet soon... and I dont mean taking it out on my bf... he doesn't need & deserve it now.
My condolences to you my fren.. I hope you'll get by this alot better than I did with the support from all your friends.
On a brighter note... its my dad's bday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!! and 2nd note.. the MASSOC agm is today... fingers crossed that I get what I want..
Its weird you know... in a span of a few hours I'm grieving for a friends loss and celebrating my dad's bday... I dont know how I should act... February 23 bug bitesBefore I get started, I've just uploaded pics from the LCCA CNY celebration on your right so go n have a look and tell me if I look old in the pics. XD
Bug bites are irritating things you know. I'm not talking about mosquito bites mind you but just 'normal' bug bites. whats worse if you dont know the insect that bit you.
I know a guy that lives on my floor (mind you I live on a GIRLS floor so if ur smart u can put 2 and 2 together) that is just plagued with these bug bites. That poor guy.. somehow the bug bites are always concentrated on his neck and in very obvious locations too. I wonder why. He also tries his very best at scratching at them. Scratching you see reddens them and spreads the colour out over a larger area.. wonder why he does that hmm... but its in vain as the bug bites are of deep maroon colour and can be seen a mile away... poor guy.. this poor fella is also attacked by these bugs ever so often that as soon as one starts to fade away another one appears.. and somehow the size of the bites are normally about the same size, width and location... reminds me of the areas vampires like to bite.. XD ... He currently has 2 on his neck (one left and one right) and it looks like this one will take a while to go away... not that it matters as new ones will start appearing soon. Somehow, he is the only one that stays on this floor and this hse that gets these bites.. he is also the only one that stays in that room that gets it at that frequency... odd mysteries I tell you...tsk tsk... you'd think that in this cold country there would be no bugs to survive to actually bite you. I guess there are SOME BUGS that can survive it. lol..
I bet some ppl are just gonna be confused bout my blogs so just msn me la to ask.. I'll be all too happy to help! ^_~
MASSOC is gonna have its annual ball soon and I was just nominated to be the female emcee for that night ... at least I'm IT till I find a replacement. sigh.. wish vonnie was here den I can just pass the job on to her. She was great at the A-lvls ball... actually anyone is good as long as I can spend the night sitting down and eating and enjoying myself rather than be on the stage so everyone can stare at plain ol' me.. Anyone interested?? Call me ASAP!! I NEED A DAMN REPLACEMENT!! February 22 travel plans...I feel like travelling this easter but I'm too lazy and traumatised from last easter's trip to plan. I had a chance given to me to accompany some friends to go to helsinki but I declined in the end cos they insisted on leaving on the 1st week of hols (en ruey's hols only start on the 2nd week u see).. so there...
Dunno why I'm suddenly so interested in wanting to travel, I had already settled for a quiet easter at either my place or bath. Maybe it was because the opurtunity for me to go to helsinki rekindled some old excitement bout going somewhere for the hols and not just sit around and rot my brains out.. lol
I even caught myself researching bout norway (thats THE ONE PLACE I REALLY WANT TO GO!!) and even seeing which budget airline flies there..so far its been a bit discouraging cos jet2 doesnt go to oslow/bergen till late april and ryanair flies to a remote airport in bergen which takes a 2 and a half hour bus ride to reach city centre... crazy..
But looking at all the pics, the fjords were so beautifull!! Now I know why my parents keep pushing for me to go there cos its something that'll just blow you away.. yea yea.. nice and all.. it still needs alot of planning and preparation to go for a trip. Last year's easter trip to amsterdam-brussels-paris nearly killed me.. damn susah.. and it didnt make me feel any better that we had to take a 6am flight to ams meaning little sleep the night before.. and because of this en ruey made me promise we wouldnt do something like that again so now I'm a little paranoid bout going on trips with him. I mean like he's great fun to travel with... but... budget airlines do fly at weird hours to save cost.
With all the moaning aside, travelling is really great. (neglecting money and bad weather) You get to see new things and taste new flavours. Eye opening experiences are bound to happen. And if you travel with the right commpany, the memories we create together is something to cherish for life.
That's y when my dad asked me if I was travelling this easter I told him that I would only go if someone else was planning cos I could still enjoy the perks of travelling without the stress in planning involved.
So if anyone who's reading this blog is gonna travel this easter and are looking for kaki's .. CALL ME!! I'M SURE AS HELL INTERESTED!!
Just felt like ranting.. excuse me ^_~ February 19 CSI CAME TO MY HSE!!!!They came allright. Cept that they didnt come in but just stopped short at the backdoor. A hsemate of mine had his car broken into when he parked it in Devonshire. Apparently the thieves stole his cd player and actually got some diesel to pour onto his car to set it on fire. HOWEVER, diesel doesn't light so easily so their attempts failed. LOL. So he reported it to the police and a csi lady came to fingerprint the car and take pics of the 'crimescene'. Lol... just like in the Las Vegas csi show. She even had the nikon d70 to complete the look. lol...
My hse here is an interesting place to live. Every once in a while weird things'll happen. About 2 weeks ago I was running back home from dinner to escape the rain (damn cold man) and just as I crossed the last road to enter my hse compound 2 british girls on the sidewalk started screaming and pointing at the road (lol... I tell u...) Whadaya know... it was a cute little wet and miserable ferret,.... about to get hit by a car. BUT... with all that racket they were making, the driver managed to slow down (who wouldn't!!) to avoid it just in time. By then, the ferret was already spooked enough to dash under a car parked nearby. My hsemate (surprisingly come to think of it, he is the same guy who had his car broken into) then attempted to catch the fellla to save it from the rain and cold. I'm not sure how he managed to do it without getting any scratches (cos I had gone in to take a call) but it did. To cut the long story short, my girlfren who stays on my floor took the fella into her room for the night and put him in this huge box laid wif newspapers and covered him with one of her pink towels.. awwww man... he was so cute!!! You should have seen the way he snuggled deeper into the towel the moment we put it on him. Apparently when he's awake he's real lively and friendly with humans so we suspect he must have been some runaway pet. Anyway, the next day the SPCA came to collect him. Hopefully someone will take him in again eventually if not they would probably put him to sleep. Good luck ferret!!
Hmm.. I think thats about all the weird things that has happened so far. But just to key u guys on on my life currently...
I just spent the whole day today in the City Hall helping out at a CNY celebration ( i know its a bit late) organised by the Leeds Chinese Community Association. Our Malaysian society was helping them out with various things and my job was just to be the receptionist. My feet was killing me by the end of the day (standing in heels for several hours straight isnt good at all!!!) but it was fun at certain times and time just flew by so fast. I think the most interesting thing I saw today was ANG MOH'S DOING THE LION DANCE!!!!! Man it was weird. I dont think they did the whole cabbage-oranges-pamelo arrangement thou.. lol... But it was nostalgic seeing and hearing the sounds of chinese new year... It's been awhile after all. Allrighty!!! I shall put up the pics from the CNY thing eventually once I get them but in the meantime, dont forget to look at the ferret pics up there!! He's so cute man!!! January 04 Back and MiserableJust arrived in the UK yesterday at about 4.20 in the evening. Got thru customs with flying colours ^_^ (too bad for the guy after me thou) so all me cookies are safe in my room... safe untill I get hungry..hehehe...
Was abit disoriented with the cold when I got back.. cold air, cold water, cold room...didnt help that I had VERY little food in me cos somehow the airplane food REALLY sucked BIG TIME this time...haih.. but by the time I arrived at my hall it was about 3/4am m'sian time so really no appetite to eat anything. This morning woke up to have a couple of rock buns that my aunt gave me (they're DAMN GOOD!!!!) and a cup of water... T_T.. ooo kesian-nya..
BUT tonight will be better as I will be cooking proper food (chicken kurma!!!!) cos I just went grocery shopping an hour ago.. (my hands and shoulders were numb from pain when I was done).
The last day I was home I had so many friends visitng me in one day...Amazing I tell you... had the whole 3 weeks to come and they choose to come on the last day. Oh well.. it was nice meeting up with Ser Ley thou.. LOOOONNNNGGG time since I last saw her and now the girl even has a bit of an accent now!! WTH!! Best part was that she gave me a keychain with a dog that looks like keoni attached to it. ITS SO DAMN CUTE!! All this while I've been searching for a doggie patung that looks like keoni and she just came waltzing in and gave it to me. Yippee!! Now its hanging proudly on my bag. (there's pics of it on ur right ----->>>)
Missed my family, dog, home, and bf all throughout the flight. REALLY miss my dog the most cos as I left he pulled a long sad face.. haih... he's gonna be sleeping downstairs in the hall the next few days again (he does this everytime I dont come back) and worst of all, my dad will be outstation the next few days so my doggie's '2nd master' will not be around. Poor fella. The last few days before I left, he knew that I was gonna leave anytime soon.. I think he's starting to understand wat I'm saying alot more. Whenever I take him to do his bussiness at the back, he will do it REAL QUICK and jump back up cos he's afraid of me leaving without him. and I HAVE to be standing at a position where he can see me. On the morning I flew, he refused to go down the stairs and I had to carry him all the way to the grass before he did anything. Poor fella... man ... I'm gonna miss that furry animal.
I dislike being in the uk... I wish my course would just end already so I can go home and wear shorts everyday and have this furry animal follow me around and eat the best food in the world and drive anywhere I want and see my bf anytime I want!! Why is it that this year I'm more homesick than ever?? Must have been the summer hols... I LOVE being home and I cant wait till summer hols. Semester 2.... pls go by faster!! December 31 Birthday Day!!It's en ruey's birthday today!! IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE!!!
Oh and also.. A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!! December 27 MASSOC End of Term PartyI know this is REALLY outdated but I just got the pics a few moments ago. But look on the bright side... at least I'm still gonna tell you the story!
On the friday before I came back, MASSOC had an end of term party.(I think the point of the party is clear) There was:
(i) Food (buffet and MALAYSIAN food as well.. partly sponsored by the gracious Malaysian restaurant that catered our party)
(ii) Fun (many people met many NEW people that day... hopefully everyone benefitted from it somehow or other)
(iii) Games!! What party would be complete without games??? (we had tons of fun with balloon popping games and washing line games. It was a riot seeing our prez trying to protect his baloon from everyone as the whole room only seem intent on popping HIS)
All in all I'd say parts of the party was a success as 90 over ppl turned up for the event although we only projected 70ppl would come and somehow with the huge abundance of ppl, the food did not finish!! I had to carry back a HUGE container of fried rice in the end. The failure thou (in my opinionla) was that because the comittee members had to take THEIR dinner as well AFTER serving everyone, some ppl (actually a MAJORITY of them) had started to leave after eating. Tak tahu lah if its becos of Malaysian attitude, eat den chow.. dun bother to stay back to mix around or was it becos there was THAT huge of a time delay btwn eating n the games that ppl actually thought that the whole thing was over and just left like that.
But I would like to thank those that ACTUALLY stayed behind and helped by participating in the games and in the clean up as well. Thnx a bunch guys!! I know I must have seem stressed that day but I really WAS STRESSED!! While my co-organiser was busy getting the food to the venue in one piece, I was wholly in charge of making sure the place and layout was fine.. if not...MY ASS would be on fire.lol.. but thank god for the bright minds there that night, certain logistical problems were sorted in due time.
That night gave me lots of good memories. Lots of laughter, lots of fun. It was also the first time since the start of term that I had let myself completely unwind and relax without having to worry about work at all as it was the last day of term and I had just handed in a HUGE project which I had been stressing over the whole term.
En Ruey constantly asks me why do I put myself in stressfull situations by voluntering in these society events although I KNEW I would be swamped with work. Well, after the night was over it was clear. I LOVED doing these things. The benefits that I reap from seeing and hearing everyone enjoying themselves and saying that they had a good time was payment enough. Also it didn't hurt that although we projected a loss from this event, I can only say that we DIDN'T make a loss... I think I shall not say more for the fear of William coming after my head. ehehe...
So anyway... enjoy the pics that I put up (I know CERTAIN PPL that complain that my blog has very few pics which is ironic really cos ppl who DO know me know I like taking TONS of pics)
p.s.- I added 2 more group pics for the Malaysian fair.. just pointing out.. November 06 Leeds Malaysian Fair 2005Now before I start I want it to be absolutely clear that I do NOT want anyone waltzing into my blog to read dis and den leave a comment on how much better their uni's version of this fair is. Its our comitee's first year organising this so there's bound to be some flaws. Got it!?!?!!!
Now.. on the 2nd of Nov 2005, the leeds malaysian and singaporean society (MASSOC) organised a malysian fair to help 'inform' the locals and all other international students about the existence of our beautifull country and its culture... culture also includes food right? All in all, we had 15 different kinds of food for sale that day. And in true malysian style... all the students who were selling the food were told to come at 9am or at least 10am (cos 10am is when the fair starts) But by 10, there was only 2 stalls set up... -_-!!!! The rest of them came an hour later... sigh...but luckily most of the food was sold off really quickly during the lunch rush hour and by the time I returned to the fair from my classes at 2pm, I only managed to grab the LAST exsiting nasi lemak portion... haiyo... even the satay was gone... *jumps around cursing at stupid timetable*
Our comitee (in hopes of helping to promote the event even more) had made a blue banner announcing the fair to hang on the trees outside the union (the fair was held in the union) and it had been haging there for the last few days b4 the fair. HOWEVER on the day of the event, the banner had MYSTERIOUSLY dissapeared to be replaced by an even bigger white banner by some other ppl! GRRR... apparently some palestenians (i think) had set up a booth of some sort in front of the trees and had convieniently put THEIR banner up on the trees... its so obvious it was them but apparently according to the cleaners the banner was gone b4 7am and the white banner only went up at 8am... sigh.. and the CCTV was pointing in the wrong direction too so we couldnt see what happened.. haiyo...
But anyway, we made brisk business that day and we raised a reasonable ammount of funds (I believe so as we havent had a meeting to confirm the total profit of the day) but if you guys had taken a look at the pics I had posted, you would have noticed the souveniers stall we had setup and the goods we had for sale. And if you had been sharp enough to spot the price tags you would have realised that we were doing at least 700% profit on everything we sold. And some of the kwai lous were even commenting how cheap the stuff were... I was trying to keep a straight face by pretending we were making a loss as we were trying to sell of everything... LMAO...But , the goods we sold had an even bigger secret to them and I dont think I should type it here for the fear I would get shot. Ask me in person if you wanna know!
And den we had a 'fashion show' ... oh shut up... I was forced into it as the whole committe agreed to support the girl organising it... sigh.. but it was a really informal 'fashion show' as we just stepped up one by one when called as the hostess (the one in green cheongsam) introduced our clothes. I was quite happy we pulled it off in the end as the audience look really interested to see everyone's different costumes (further solidifying the fact that we are a multiracial country). The day ended pretty well considering its the first time something like this has ever happened in our uni and am looking forward to making it an even bigger and better event next year.
And for those who are wondering, I managed to get myself elected as the Asst. Entertainment Director of MASSOC. Looking forward to aim for Vice Pres. or some other post next year. *crossed fingers*
p.s.- Chrissie (in the pics) is a Kadazan... interesting huh? |
